ShredLoop — Privacy Policy

ShredLoop (“the app”, “we”, “us”) helps you notice and let go of intrusive or negative thoughts. The app is operated by the developer of ShredLoop, who can be reached at jfsolutions1990@gmail.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using ShredLoop you agree to the practices described below.

ShredLoop does not require an account, does not show ads, and does not sell your personal information.

1. Information We Handle

• The thoughts you write. When you ask the app to analyze a thought, the text you typed is sent securely to our processing service so it can be analyzed for cognitive distortions and rewritten into a kinder reframe. This is the core function of the app. Your thoughts are used only to generate that analysis and are never sold, shared for advertising, or used to build a profile of you.
• A device identifier. To provide the one free analysis and prevent abuse of the free trial, the app sends a device identifier (Android’s ANDROID_ID) with each analysis request. This value is not tied to your name, email, phone number, or Google account.
• Subscription status. If you purchase ShredLoop Pro, Google Play processes the payment. We receive only the information needed to confirm and restore your entitlement (whether an active subscription exists). We never receive your full payment card details.
• On-device data. Your saved thought records, reframes, and app settings (reminders, haptics, fingerprint lock, onboarding progress) are stored locally on your device only. They are not uploaded to our servers.
• Biometric (fingerprint) lock. If you enable the fingerprint lock, authentication is handled entirely by your device’s Android system. Your fingerprint or other biometric data is never read, collected, transmitted, or stored by ShredLoop.

2. How Your Thoughts Are Processed

Analysis is performed in the cloud. When you tap Analyze, your thought text and the device identifier are sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to our proxy service hosted on Cloudflare, which forwards the text to our AI provider, Anthropic (Claude), to generate the distortion analysis and reframe. The result is returned to your device.

We do not retain a durable database of your thoughts on our servers. The text is processed to produce your result and is not used to train AI models. Anthropic processes the text as our data processor under its own commercial terms and does not use it to train its models.

3. What We Do NOT Collect

• No name, email address, phone number, or Google account is required or collected by the app.
• No advertising identifiers, location data, contacts, photos, or microphone/camera access.
• No analytics or third-party tracking SDKs are embedded for advertising purposes.

4. Permissions

• Internet — to send your thought for analysis and to process subscriptions.
• Notifications — optional daily reminders you can turn on or off in Settings.
• Vibrate — optional haptic feedback.
• Billing — to offer and restore the ShredLoop Pro subscription via Google Play.

5. Data Sharing

We share data only with the service providers required to run the app:

• Cloudflare, Inc. — hosts the secure proxy that routes analysis requests (privacy policy).
• Anthropic, PBC — provides the AI that generates the analysis and reframe (privacy policy).
• Google Play — processes subscription payments and manages entitlements (privacy policy).

We do not sell your personal information and do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

6. International Data Transfers

The service providers above (Cloudflare, Anthropic, and Google) operate globally, and your thought text and device identifier may be processed on servers located in the United States or other countries that may have data-protection laws different from those in your country. Where required, these providers rely on recognised safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for such transfers. By using the app, you understand that your information may be processed in these locations to deliver the service.

7. Data Retention

Thought text is processed transiently to produce your analysis and is not stored in a persistent database by us. The device identifier used for the free-trial limit may be retained in short-lived storage to enforce that limit. Your saved records and settings live on your device and remain until you delete them or uninstall the app.

8. Your Choices & Controls

• Don’t send a thought. Writing is optional; nothing is analyzed until you tap Analyze.
• Clear all data. Settings → Privacy → Clear all data removes your local records and settings.
• Uninstall. Uninstalling the app removes all data stored on your device.
• Manage your subscription at any time through the Google Play Store.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR or the California CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information, to object to processing, and to data portability. Because ShredLoop has no accounts, most of your data lives on your device and is under your direct control (see “Your Choices & Controls” above).

Data deletion requests. To request deletion of any information we may hold off your device (such as the device identifier used for the free-trial limit), email jfsolutions1990@gmail.com and we will action your request. You will never be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.

10. Children’s Privacy

ShredLoop is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the app, please contact us and we will help.

11. Security

Data in transit is protected using industry-standard TLS/HTTPS encryption. The AI provider’s access key is stored only as a server-side secret and is never included in the app. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

12. Not Medical Advice

ShredLoop is a self-help wellbeing tool and is not a medical device or a substitute for professional diagnosis, therapy, or treatment. If you are in crisis or need help, please contact a qualified professional or your local emergency services.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, within the app.
